GOPALGANJ: Two minors drowned at Bandhabari and Khagbari villages of Kotalipara upazila of the district on Wednesday morning.

The deceased were identified as Marufa, 2, daughter of Selim Goldar, and Monisha Roy, 1, daughter of one school teacher Debabrata Roy.

Local sources said Marufa drowned while playing beside ahe pond near their house.

Family members rescued her and rushed to hospital where on duty declared her dead, sources added.

On the other hand, Monisha Roy also drowned while playing by the pond.

Officer-in-Charge of Kotalipara Thana Abdul Latif confirmed the matter to banglanews.
