DHAKA: The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) held one of the aides of key suspect Kala Babu for triple murder of city’s Moghbazar area on Thursday night.
CID sources said that the he was held from city’s New Market area around 11:45pm.
Earlier, three people were killed and another sustained bullet injury as miscreants shot them at the victim’s residence around 8:15pm on Thursday centering longstanding dispute.
Police sources said that a gang of miscreants entered into a house of the area and shot them indiscriminately, leaving Billal Hossain, 22, Munna, 20, Bristy, 32 dead and Hridoy injured critically.
Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, State Minister for Home Affairs, along with Inspector General of Bangladesh Police (IGP) Hasan Mahmud Khandaker and other top level officials of police visited to the spot around 10:15pm.
Answering a question of the journalists, Asaduzzaman Khan said that the recent killing incidents of Wednesday and Thursday are stray incidents.
He also said that the situation is still under the control of the law enforcement agencies.
He further said that the motives of the killings and identity of the killers will be unveiled shortly. The miscreants will be nabbed and brought under law, he added.
IGP Hasan Mahmud Khandaker said that we have started the investigation in this connection and the mystery of the killings will be disclosed soon.
The law enforcers are conducting special drives at several places to nab the main suspect Kala Babu and his cohorts, Hasan Mahmud Khandaker added.
