DHAKA: A young man was electrocuted in Begunbari area of Tejgaon Thana of the city on Sunday.

The deceased was identified as Delwar Hossain, 22, a waiter in a hotel.

A local, M Biplob, said Delwar came in contact with a live wire when he was working with the wire in the roof of the hotel around 11:00am.

He was taken to the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) in critical condition where on-duty doctors declared him dead around 12:30pm.

The dead body was kept in DMCH morgue for autopsy.
