Gold bars seized at Sylhet Airport

SYLHET: The customs authorities detained a man with three gold bars, weighing 350-gram, from Osmani International Airport in the district on Saturday morning. 

The officials found the gold bars after checking the luggage of M Razu Mia of Bishwanath upzila of Sylhet, said Customs Assistant Commissioner Omar Mubin.

He said Razu Mia landed at the airport around 11:00am by a flight Bangladesh Biman (BG-052) from the United Arab Emirates. 

The market price of seized gold is worth about Tk 12 lakh, he added.
