Verdict on ATM Shamsuzzaman’s son murder at noon

DHAKA: A special court here on Sunday is going to deliver the verdict of noted film actor ATM Shamsuzzaman’s eldest son murder trial.

Earlier on March 13, 2012, ATM Kamruzzman Kabir was stabbed to death by his younger brother ATM Khalequzzaman Kushol at their residence in the capital’s Sutrapur.

However, sources said that judge Shahed Nuruddin of Dhaka Speedy Trial Tribunal-1, will deliver the verdict in the noon.

Confirming the matter to banglanews, special Public Prosecutor (PP) Abu Abdullah Bhuiyan said that the court fixed the date after completion of recording hearing on the final argument in the case.

Moreover, ATM Shamsuzzaman’s youngest son Khalequzzaman has also been brought to the court by this time, he added.

He said that verdict in the murder trial would be delivered within couple of hours as the court fixed the date for pronouncement of the verdict earlier.

According to the case statements, noted film actor ATM Shamsuzzman, himself, filed a case with Sutrapur police station after the incident accusing his youngest son for murdering his elder brother.

Nevertheless, ATM Shamsuzzaman also gave deposition before the court against his son.

“It was the most unfortunate incident that my entire family had witnessed,” ATM Shamsuzzaman said in his deposition.
