DHAKA: A pedestrian was killed as a BRTC bus jumped into the road-island near Al Raji Hospital in Tejgaon area of the capital on Monday.

The deceased was identified as Ali Akkas, 35.

Sub-inspector (SI) Razibul Islam of Tejgaon Police Station confirmed the matter to banglanews.

The accident occurred as the driver of the bus lost control over the steering and run over him in the area around 7:00am, leaving him dead, the SI added.

The law enforcers detained the bus driver Indu Laskar.
