ACC to sue 2 ex-Teletalk officials

DHAKA: The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) is set to sue two former officers of mobile operator company Teletalk Bangladesh Limited for Embezzled Tk 9.75 crore.

ACC has given approval to file the case on Monday at ACC office in city’s Shegunbagicha.

Deputy-director (public relations) of ACC Pranab Kumar Bhattachariya confirmed the matter.

The accused are former assistant manager (system operation) of Teletalk SM Tarek Rahman and former assistant manager (market development) Sabibur Rahman Shiplu.

ACC sources said the allegation against the duo for embezzling Tk 9.75 crore from the company through fraud and forgery till June, 2010.

During investigation, the anti-graft body found evidences of laundering money against them.

ACC will file the case as the allegations have been initially proved.

Deputy assistant director of ACC M Hafizur Rahman is looking into the case.
