TANGAIL: Two people were killed in a road accident in Pakutia area at Ghatail upazila of the district on Wednesday.

The deceased were identified as Abdul Barek, 60 and Shukur, 45, hailed from Purba Pakutia village.

Local sources said a rashly driven Dhaka-bound passenger bus of Binimoy Paribahan from Dhanabari knocked a rickshaw-van down in the area around 12:00 noon, leaving the van puller Shukur dead on the spot and passernger Barek injnured critically.

Fatally injured Barek was rushed to Ghatail Upazila Health Complex he succumbed to his injuries.

Ghatail Thana Officer-in-Charge Fazlul Kabir said the bodies were sent to the morgue for autopsy.
