DHAKA: The second additional Metropolitan Session Judge Court has framed a supplementary charge on Ramna bomb blast explosive case.

Besides, the date for depositions has been scheduled on September 14.

Justice Mohammad Ruhul Amin on Thursday framed the charge, including Section-6 with Section-3 in explosive act.

On April 16, 2009, the court framed a charge against 14 accused under Section-3 of the act.

The court fixed September 13 for the deposition of other witnesses as earlier seven people gave their statements before the court.

Nine of the 14 accused in the cases, including Mufti Hannan, Arif Hasan Sumon, Shahadat Ullah Jewel, Maulana Abu Taher, Maulana Abdur Rouf, Maulana Sabbir, Maulana Showkat Osman alias Sheikh Farid, Hafez Maulana Yahiaya and Maulana Akbar Hossain, who are in jail, were produced before the court.

Five other accused Maulana M Tazuddin, Hafez Jahangir Alam Badar, Mawlana Abu Bakar alias Hafaz Selim Haidar, Mufti Shafiqur Rahman and Mufti Abdul Hai remained abscond.

On June 23, the same court gave the verdict over the murder case giving gallows eight people including Mufti Hannan and six others for life time imprisonment.

Those who sentenced gallows include Mufti Hannan, Maulana Akbar Hossain, Arif Hasan Sumon, Mawlana M Tazuddin, Hafez Jahangir Alam Badar, Mawlana Abu Bakar alias Hafaz Selim Haidar, Mufti Shafiqur Rahman and Mufti Abdul Hai.

On the day of the blast, Sergeant Amal Chandra of Babupura Police Station filed a murder case with Ramna Police Station.

Later, the Detective Branch (DB) and Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of police took over the case.

The blasts took place during the traditional celebrations of Bangla New Year 1408 organized by Chhayanaut at Ramna Batamul in city.
