ACC issues notice to 3 Destiny directors

DHAKA: Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Thursday issued notice to three directors of Destiny Multipurpose Cooperative Society Limited asking the statement of their moveable and immoveable properties.

Three notices, signed by ACC Deputy Director Sheikh M Fanafillah, were sent to the addresses of three directors-- Directors M Zakir Hossain, M Farida Akhter and Jamshed Ara Chowdhury--in the afternoon.

They were asked to send the statement within seven days of receiving the notice.

A competent source from the anti-graft body confirmed the matter to banglanews.

ACC already has filed charge sheets against them.

On August 28, ACC sent another notice to eight, including seven directors of Destiny, asking the statement of their moveable and immoveable properties.

On July 31, 2012, the ACC filed a case against Destiny Group officials for laundering about Tk 213.90 crore of Destiny Tree Plantation Ltd Project.

On May 4, ACC submitted charge sheet against two organization of Destiny Group for laundering Tk 4,119 crore.

In the charge sheet, chairman of Destiny Group and former Lieutenant general (retd) Harun-ar-Rashid and 50 other people were made accused.
