Arrest warrant against Mostafa Group chairman, MD

CHITTAGONG: A district court on Thursday issued arrest warrant against three including the chairman and Managing Director (MD) of MM Vegetable Oil Products Limited, a sister concern of Mostafa group, in a cheque dishonor case.

Chittagong Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court Judge M Mashiur Rahman passed the order.

The three accused are MM Vegetable Oil Products Limited Chairman Hefazatur Rahman, Vice-Chairman Shafique Uddin and MD Jahir Uddin.

The court sources confirmed the matter to banglanews.

The case statement said the company, in 2012, issued a cheque of Tk 3.97 crore of Agrani Bank in favour of Laldighi Branch of Rupali Bank Ltd against a loan from the bank which was dishonored.

Later, senior office of Rupali Bank Laldighi Branch Osman Gani filed a case on January 23, 2013, as the company authorities did not response two legal notices.

The court issued warrant against the three and fixed December 15 for next hearing.
