GAIBANDHA: Two minors drowned in Sadullapur and Saghata Upazila of the district Friday. 

The deceased were identified as Asha Moni, 5, daughter of Matiar Rahman, of Kishamat Doshlia village under Sadullapur Upazila and Al-Wahed, 3, son of Nazrul Islam Babu, of Hasikandi village under Saghata Upazila. 

Locals said that Asha Moni was playing in a field near home and at one stage went missing. Later, locals recovered the floating body from a pond in the area. 

In another incident, Wahed drowned in a pond near the house when he was playing near the pond. Later, the body was recovered by locals around 10:30am. 

Saghata Union Parsad Chairman Mosharraf Hossain and Damodar Union Parsad Chairman Monoarul Hasan Jim Mandal confirmed the matter to banglanews.
