SIRAJGANJ: Two people were killed in a road accident in Dhangara area of Raiganj upazila in the district on Friday afternoon.

The deceased were identified as Ashraf, 46, and Shahadat Ali, 30, of Dasuria village of the upazila.

Police said that the accident occurred when ‘Bhatbhati’ (a local transport run by shallow engine) overturned as its driver lost his control over the steering near Bairy Bridge of the area around 4:30 pm, leaving Ashraf and Shahadat dead on the spot and five others injured.

Locals whisked the injured to the Raiganj Upazila Health Complex.

Rashedul Islam Biswas, Officer-in-Charge of Raiganj Police station, confirmed the matter to banglanews.
