Over hundred fishermen abducted!

BAGERHAT: Sea robbers abducted more than hundred fishermen and looted fish, fuel oil from their trawlers inBoya and Sonadia area of the Bay of Bengal on Friday.

Of the victims, four are identified instantly. They are- Anwar Hossain, 32, Roka Mia, 38, Dhanu Mollah, 40, Mozammel Howlader, 25. 

Quoting some fishermen who escaped the abduction, Sharankhola Fishermen’s Association president Abul Hossain told banglanews that the roobers of Jahangir and Farhad Bahini attacked the fishermen who were returning to coast after night-long fishing in the sea. 

Meanwhile, the attackers looted cash, fish, fuel, mobile phone from the boats of fishermen. 

Following the matter, Mongla Coast Guard West Zone Commander Kazi Mehedi Hansan told banglanews that they were not informed about such abduction. 

But law enforcers will take action against any robbery in Bay of Bengal, he added.
