GAZIPUR: Eight warehouses of Jhut (garment waste) were gutted in a devastating fire in Chandura area of the district early Monday.

On information, five fire fighting units from Dhaka Export Processing Zone (DEPZ) fire service and others rushed to the spot and bring the fire under control after two hours frantic efforts.

The cause of fire, took place at 4:30 am, could not be known yet.

None was reported injured in the accident.

Kaliakoir fire service station in-charge Apurba Bal said he extent of loss caused by the fire could not be estimated immediately.
