Flood claims 6 lives in Bogra, properties damaged

DHUNAT, BOGRA: Six people were killed and properties worth thousands of crores Taka damaged due to incessant rain and the onrush of water from river in last eleven of day in the district.

Of the deceased, Abdullah Haque, 7, son of Nurul Islam, Safi Khatun, 13, Manika Khatun, 14, drowned in water. Besides, Afizar Rahman, 40, son of Khoka Mia, Imdadul Haque Khokonm 25, son of Isahak Ali died due to snake bite.

On the other hand, police recovered an unidentified body from flood water.

Confirming the matter, Dhunat Thana Sub-Inspector Enayet Kabir said that the unidentified body was sent to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital morgue.

Dhunat Upazila Project Implementation Officer (PIO) Riazul Islam told banglanews that roads, fisheries, educational institutions and houses were damaged in last 11-day-long flood.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Hafizur Rahman told banglanews that high officials were being informed about the destruction.
