DHAKA: The government has given approval to a proposal to turn Tejagon Industrial Area into Commercial and Residential area alongside industrial area.

An order has been given to prepare a master-plan in this regard.

The approval came from a regular meeting of the cabinet with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair at the secretariat in city.

After the meeting, Cabinet Secretary Mosharrsaf Hossain Bhuiyan was briefing journalists.

He said a high-level committee, led by housing and public works minister, will submit opinions to the Prime Minister after reviewing the master plan.
