KISHOREGANJ: Two children were killed and 25 injured in a clash between two rival groups at Barokanda village of Mithamoin upazila of the district on Tuesday.

The deceased minor were China Akhter, 9, daughter of Murshid Mia and student of Chilimpur Government Primary School and Mozakkir, 13, son of M Ali of the village.

Locals said there is a long-standing dispute between Bashir Member and Haider Ali group to establish supremacy in the area.

Later, the supporters locked into a clash around 10:30am with lethal weapons, leaving the minors dead on the spot and 25 others injured.

The injured were rushed to the local hospitals.

Additional Superintendent of Police of Kishoreganj Liton Kumar Saha confirmed the matter to banglanews.
