Gulshan’s 8,000 phone numbers being changed

DHAKA: Bangladesh Telecommunication Company Limited (BTCL) is going to change about 8,000 telephone numbers under its Gulshan NEC Telephone Exchange of the city on September 14.

The matter was disclosed in a press note issued on Tuesday.

All previous numbers starting with digit ‘881’ will remain same and a new digit ‘5’ will be added at the beginning of each number.

The existing numbers with the code '881' are 881-0000 to 881-7999, which will be changed to 5881-0000 to 5881-7999.

The note said BTCL is going to make the changes provide its subscribers advance and better services.

The list of previous and newly-changed numbers will be available on the BTCL official website (www.btcl.gov.bd). Besides, the subscribers will be informed on the matter via telephone call following the changes.
