DHAKA: An 11-year-old girl was found dead at bathroom of a residence in Amligola area under Lalbagh Thana of the city on Thursday.

On information, police recovered the hanging body.

The deceased was identified as Sumaiya, 11, daughter of Mobarak Baburchi and student of Halima Sadia Mahila Madrasha.

She hailed from Pateshwari village under Begumganj upazila of Noakhali district and lived in medical staff quarter at city’s Elephant road.

Officer-in-Charge Nurul Moktakim of Lalbagh Thana told banglanews that, on information, they rushed in and recovered the body of Sumaiya from the bathroom of 5th floor.

The body was taken to the Sir Salimullah Medical College (SSMC) morgue for autopsy.
