KOLKATA: ‘Story’, a well-known publisher in Indian city of Kolkata, brings out Bangladeshi author Saiful Hasan’s book ‘Sambala’ in English.
Arindam Mukherjee, prominent writer from India, translated the book.
Bangladesh deputy high commission to Kolkata first secretary (Press) Mofakkarul Iqbal unveiled the cover of the book on Friday.
Admiring Saiful’s writing, Iqbal told banglanews that he has already proved himself as an excellent author in Bangladesh.
He also hoped that Saiful’s book will also attain fame in India.
‘Sambala’ translator Arindam Mukherjee said that he has come to know about Saiful from social media. “Later, after reading the book, I decided to translate it into English.”
He, moreover, hoped that the book will bring the two nations closer.
Saiful Hasan, the author of the book, said that Sambala, a mysterious imaginary place situated in Tibet.
‘Sambala’, a juvenile novel, tells the audience a story about the place, the author said adding more it will stir early memories of many people.
