DHAKA: The external publicity wing of foreign affairs ministry protested the published reports on summoning of Bangladesh deputy high commissioner by the chief minister of Indian state of West Bengal.

“Attention has been drawn to some media reporting about summoning of Bangladesh Deputy High Commissioner by the Chief Minister of West Bengal Saturday,” said a press release said on Saturday.

“The news is not based on fact,” the news release added.

According to the release, upon a request from Bangladesh deputy high commissioner, West Bengal chief minister has given her time to a courtesy call on 15 September.
