COX’S BAZAR: Two policemen were hurt while a drug peddler sustained bullet injury in a gunfight in Hoyikong area under Teknaf Upazila of the district on Tuesday morning.

The injured are - Syed Hossain, Mohammad Aktar, Mahiuddin and two police Constable Belal and Azizul. 

The bullet-hit Yaba dealer is- Mohammad Ismail, son of Abdul Aziz. 

Sources said that a patrolling team of police signaled to stop a vehicle in the area around 5:00am. 

Then the Yaba dealer and his cohorts opened fire aiming police and in reply police also opened fire, leaving the three and two police men injure.

Later, bullet-hit Ismail was sent to Chittagong Medical College Hospital. 

Meanwhile, police seized a luxurious car, three thousands Yaba tablets, a local gun and two round bullets from the spot. 

Confirming the matter Teknaf Thana Officer-in-Charge Moktar Hossain said that three separate cases will be filed in this connection.
