DHAKA: The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) submitted an investigation report seeking recommendation to file a case against Enamul Haque, Member of Parliament from Rajshahi-4 constituency.

ACC deputy director Jatan Kumar Roy submitted the report to its director Nur Ahmed on Tuesday noon.

The ACC sources confirmed the matter to banglanews.

In the report, the anti-graft commission sought recommendation for filing case accusing the MP for Tk 207 crore allegedly illegal properties.

The statement said Enamul had a profit of Tk 84 lakh after paying the tax while he paid Tk 87 lakh as income tax that is not realistic.

The sources said Enamul and his wife Tuhura Haque submitted their wealth statements of over Tk 8.34 crore. But they technically avoided the information regarding their ownership on some limited companies, proprietorship and partnership on enterprises.

Enamul also hid the information including Saleha-Imarat Cold Storage, Ena-Dunga Leasing, Northern Power Solution Limited, Ena International, Ena Cars and Ena Energy.

Earlier on January 22, the commission decided to investigate into the sources of wealth of former health and family welfare minister Dr AFM Ruhul Haque, former state minister for housing and public works affairs Advocate Abdul Mannan Khan, state minister for water resources Mahbubur Rahman Talukder, Abdur Rahman Bodi MP from Cox’s Bazar-4 constituency, Aslamul Haque MP from Dhaka-12, Engineer Enamul Haque MP from Rajshahi-4 and MA Jabbar MP from Satkhira-2 constituency.
