COMILLA: Two people were killed in a road accident in Suagazi Bhatpara Rastar Matha area of Sadar Dakkhin upazila in the district on Wednesday.

The deceased were identified as Saiful Islam, 24, CNG-run auto-rickshaw driver and son of Jashim uddin of Bishnapur village and Manwara Begum, 22, daughter of late Nur Ahmed of Bhatpara village in the upazila.

Officer-in-charge of Sadar Dakkhin Thana Prashanta Paul confirmed the matter to banglanews.

He said a Feni-bound passenger bus of ‘Star Line Paribahan’ rammed a CNG-run auto-rickshaw in the area around 2:00pm, leaving Saiful and Manwara dead and three others injured.

The injured were taken to the Comilla Medical College and Hospital (CMCH).

On information, law enforcers rushed in and handed over the bodies to their relatives.
