BANDARBAN: Police detained 18 people, who were trying to cross the sea to enter into Malaysia illegally, from Kumari area of Fasiakhali under Lama upazila of the district Friday night.

Sources said that brokers gathered 18 fortune seekers to send them Malaysia in the area. Acting on a tip off, police in a drive detained them around 11:30pm. 

Lama Thana Officer-in-Charge Sirajul Islam confirmed the matter to banglanews.
