AKHAURA, BRAHMANBARIA: A Chittagong-bound passenger train from Sylhet derailed at Akhaura rail station early Sunday.

The accident took place at 5:30am.

All wheels of a compartment of Udayan Express train veered off track at number-2 rail line at the station. But no one was reportedly injured.

Akhaura station cabin master Jasim Uddin confirmed the matter to banglanews.
 
Locoshed in-Charge M Mohsin said at least two hours needed to resume the rail service on the track.
