SUNAMGANG: A man allegedly chopped his father, wife and daughter to death at Brahmangaon village of Southern part of the district on Saturday night.

The incident took place at 10:30pm.

Police, however, detained Alfu Mia, the alleged killer, with blood-stained chopper.

The victims were identified as Alfu’s father Alauddin, 70, his wife Beauty Begum, 30, and his daughter Amina Begum, 2.

Locals said they heard hue and cry from Alfu’s house at 10:30am on Saturday. Moments later, neighbor called him, but received no response from the house. Later, they informed police.

Being informed, police rushed in and nabbed Alfu with a blood-stained machete.

Local said the man was a drug addict while police said he was a mentally challenged person.

District superintendent of police Harun-or-Rashid confirmed the matter to banglanews24.com.

The bodies were sent to the district Sadar Hospital for autopsy, Harun said.
