CHITTAGONG: A Chittagong court on Wednesday fixed November 20 as the date of hearing to frame charges against five accused, including the Hefazat-e-Islam Nayeb-Ameer Mufti Izhar and his son Harun Izhar.
First additional metropolitan session Judge Zannatul Ferdaus fixed the date.
Defender’s lawyer Advocate Abdus Sattar told banglanews that the case was transferred to the court from Chittagong Metropolitan Session Judge Court on September 15.
After reviewing all the documents, the judge fixed the date, he added.
Meanwhile, the court also deferred the date of deposition from Wednesday (September 24) to November 10 as the plaintiff of the case Sub-Inspector (SI) of Khulsi Thana Golam Newaz felt sick just before the deposition.
On September 7, 2013, five students were injured, later two of them died under treatment, in a blast at Lalkhan Bazar Madrasa.
Madrasa authorities claimed that the blast was occurred from laptop charger.
The director of the madrasa was Hefajat-e-Islam Nayeb-e-Amir Mufti Izharul Islam who was allegedly connected with Osma Bin Laden.
Meanwhile, police, in a drive, recovered four fresh grenades and huge materials of preparing grenades and 18 bottles acid from the residence of Mufti Izhar.
