DHAKA: Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor observed that Right to Information (RTI) Act is a good initiative from the government.
The RTI is gradually getting importance and people are also step by step being conscious, he said.
He was addressing a discussion on the occasion of ‘International Right to Know Day’ at Sufia Kamal Auditorium of National Museum in city on Sunday.
Noor said, “We will gradually modernize the law to cope with the modern time.”
The ruling Awami League lawmaker also said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is very interested and committed to the issue.
“We will assist people by providing information,” he said.
He claimed that the commission is doing well and it would do better in the future.
Cultural secretary Murtoza Ahmed, acting secretary of cabinet division coordination and reforms cell Nazrul Islam, information commissioner Khurshida Begum Sayeed and right to information forum president Shahin Anam were among others present at the discussion.
