DHAKA: Over 200 hajj pilgrims are in an uncertain situation as they were being cheated by several hajj agencies.

The deceived pilgrims are staying at the hajj camp. Even the alleged agencies have taken their passports as well.

However, Monday is the last day of hajj flights from Bangladesh.

The pilgrims are now in a fix and they are seeking the interference of the government in this regard.

One of the deceived hajj pilgrims Imanul Islam told banglanews that he along with 58 others from Natore, Pabna and Sirajganj have come here but now they are in a dilemma and find no way out of this crisis.

Imanul also claimed that the officials of Al-Ashfaq and Al-Nayeem Travels and Tours agencies have cheated with them.

“We the deceived people also organized a press conference at National Press Club but we did not get any hope,” he said.

Another deceived Amir Hossain said that we don’t know about our destiny but we seek the interference of the government in this regard.

Another victim of this juggle Sirajul Islam claimed that he along with 77 other hajj pilgrims was cheated by Sajid Travels Tours agency.

The agency took some Tk 300,000 from them each.

Only one day left for the last flight to Saudi Arabia but we don’t have any way out of this problem, he added.

One of the pilgrims Aslam Rahman claimed that Hajji Travels agency has cheated with him and 50 others.

However, police arrested eight people on Saturday and Sunday in this connection.

Police sources said that they are conducting drives to hold the accused people and recover the passports and visas of the hajj pilgrims.

Officers-in-Charge of Airport and Pallabi Thanas Shah Alam and Syed Ziauzzaman confirmed the matter to banglanews.
