LALMONIRHAT: Mother and her daughter were electrocuted in Kaliganj upazila of the district on Wednesday noon.

The deceased were identified as Shishu Bala, 55, wife of one Bhabes Chandra and her daughter Arati Rani, 30, hailed from Barajan village at Chalbala union of the upazila.

Chalbala union parisad chairman Mizanur Rahman Mizu confirmed the matter to banglanews.

He also said Shishu Bala and Arati Bala went to cut grass in a paddy filed near their home where mother Shishu Bala came in contact with an electric wire.

Immediately Arati Rani went to save her mother and got electrocuted, leaving both dead on the spot, he added.

On information, police recovered the bodies.
