DHAKA: An extremist was killed by angry mobs in Madra area of Sadar upazila in the district on Monday.

The deceased was identified as Mazed Mollah, 35, resident of West Madra of the upazila.

Sadar Thana sub-inspector Masud Khan said to banglanews that the mobs in the morning beat Mazed indiscriminately suspecting that he had connection to the murder of a young man, Azizul, on September 13.

Later, Mazed was taken to the Madaripur Sadar Hospital in critical condition where he succumbed to his injuries.
