RANGPUR: Three people were killed in a road accident in Khedmatpur area of Pirganj upazila in the district on Wednesday evening.

Officer-in-charge Israil Hossain of Pirganj Thana said a Dhaka-bound speedy bus from Rangpur ramped into a motorbike in the area around 6:15pm, leaving three riders dead on the spot.

The victims included brother, sister and their elderly grandfather.

The deceased identity could not be known immediately.

The bodied were kept in the Thana.

Protesting the incident the locals barricaded the Rangpur-Dhaka highway for half an hour that made a long queue of vehicles.
