4 killed in Khulna road crash

KHULNA: Four people were killed in a road accident in front of BGB camp at Khalishpur in the divisional city on Friday afternoon.

The deceased were identified as Mohammad Siddique, 45, Shaheed, 40, Abdul Aziz, 45 and Ilias Hossain Babu, 31, of the area.

Witnesses said a bus of Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC) hit a human hauler (locally known as easy bike) on Khulna-Jessore highway in the area around 3:00pm, leaving the Easy-bike driver and three passengers dead on the spot.

On information, police rushed to the spot and sent the bodies to Khulna Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.

Police seized the bus but failed to nab the driver of the bus as he fled the scene immediate after the accident.

Khalishpur thana officer-in-charge Kamruzzman confirmed the matter to banglanews.
