DHAKA: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina wished quick recovery of Poet Nirmalendu Goon who is scheduled to undergo an open heart surgery at Labaid hospital in the city on Monday.

PM’s Special Assistant Mahbubul Haque Shakil visited Labaid hospital around 11:00am to know physical condition of the poet on behalf of the Premier.

Meanwhile, he said that the Prime Minister could not come to hospital for cabinet meeting but she is getting all updates of his treatment.

Nirmalendu Goon was admitted at Labaid Hospital due to his heart ailments and later he was sent to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the hospital.

He has been diagnosed with a blocked artery.

Earlier on Sunday, he was admitted to Japan-Bangladesh Friendship Hospital from where he was shifted to Labaid Hospital.
