DHAKA: A student of Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) of Jagannath University was killed as a train hit him in city’s Kuril area on Wednesday.

The deceased was identified as Ismam Tahamid Tishan, 20, son of Ibrahim, resident of Kafrul area.

Police sources said a Dhaka-bound train hit Tishan in the area around 1:00pm while he was walking on the rail track, leaving him injured critically.

He was listening to music by headphone when the mishap took place, sources added.

He was rushed to Kurmitola General Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries around 3:00pm.

Kamlapur Railway Police Station Officer-in-Charge Abdul Majid confirmed the matter to banglanews.
