DHAKA: Two construction workers died after inhaling toxic gas in a septic tank at Dwipchar village in Sadar upazila of the district on Wednesday.

The deceased were identified as Abdur Rashid, 38, Imran Hossain Zoardar, 44, of the area.

Police sources said the workers entered a septic tank of a house to renovate it and fell sick inhaling toxic gas around 4:30pm.

They were rushed to Pabna General Hospital where they succumbed to their injuries around 6:00pm, said a spot account of the incident.

They bodies were sent to the hospital morgue for autopsy.

Pabna Sadar Thana Sub-Inspector Zahid Hossain confirmed the matter to banglanews.
