LONDON: Six Bangladesh-born British citizens, including five of a family, were arrested by UK police in London and nearby town for their suspected militant link.
Arrestees are Inu Mia, 57, father of Iftekhar Jaman, a Bangladesh-born British national who was killed in Syria fight in last December, Hena Chowdhury, 48, two brothers Tuhin, 26, Mustakim, 23 and sister Tamanna Shahrin, 29.
Amongst the arrestees, British police arrested four persons from their Hudson road’s residence of Portsmouth, a town far from 75 miles of London on Tuesday.
And Tamanna was detained from Blackheath of South East London while another woman, 23, from Farnborough of Hampshire.
British police said that Iftekhar’s sister Tamanna Shahrin was being interrogated over suspected terrorist link.
Under the section 38/B, 51/A and 17 of UK terrorism act 2000, police detained Iftekhar’s father Inu Mia.
The detainees were remained in police custody till filling the report.
