MUNSHIGANJ: Two people were killed and three others  injured in a road accident on Dhaka-Chittagong highway in Gazaria Upazila of the district on Friday morning.

The deceased were identified as Siraj Mia, 45, driver of the CNG-run auto-rickshaw and its passenger Saleha Begum, 40, of Gazaria upazila.   

Witnesses said a bus knocked a CNG-run auto-rickshaw on Meghna-Gomoti Bridge on Dhaka-Chittagong highway around 8:00am, leaving two dead on the spot and injured others.

Bhaberchar Highway Police Sergeant Saiful Islam confirmed the matter to banglanews.
