Dhaka: A domestic help allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself in the city’s Moghbazar area Friday night.

The deceased was identified as Kiron Akhter, 16, hailed from Doshdar village in Nandail upazila of Mymensingh district.

Ramna thana police recovered the body at around 8:30pm and sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.

Sub-Inspector of Ramna Thana Amirul Usman said the primary investigation says that Kiron ended her life by hanging from the ceiling fan in the house.

House owner Mosaddek Hossain said they were not in the house during the time.

"The door was locked from both sides and we broke open the door with the help of local people and found her hanging from the ceiling, Hossain said.
