DHAKA: A court ordered Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to investigate against 10 people including assistant police commissioner (AC) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police Detective Branch (West) in a murder case.
Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (ACMM) court of Ali Masud Sheikh passed the order on Sunday.
The case was filed by victim Tarek’s father, Abu Jafar Shikdar on September 25 accusing the DB officials for murder.
The accused are DB assistant police commissioner (AC) Mahbubur Rahman, DB police inspector Nibaran Chandra Barmam, sub-inspector Shahin, assistant sub-inspector Aktaruzzaman, constable Asadul Haque, contable Mamtaz Uddin, constable Khairul Islam, Khairul Alam Tutul, his wife Salma Begum Poli and Abdul Ahad Shohrab.
Earlier on September 14, Tarek was killed in a gunfight with DB in Mugda Green Model Town area of the city.
The DB officers demanded that Tarek was an arms trader and they recovered a pistol and two rounds of bullets from his possession.
