BRAMHANBARIA: Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Pankaj Sharan on Tuesday said the discussion is continuing over the transit through India-Bangladesh-Nepal-Bhutan, which would be benefited for Bangladesh.
The diplomat came up to the assertion while visiting Brahmanbaria Ashuganj International Seaport around 12:30pm Tuesday.
The importance of Banglabandha land port of Bangladesh would increase after the inauguration of the transit, he also observed.
The high commissioner also said India would invest to establish a container terminal at Ashuganj port, which construction work will be inaugurated soon.
Ashuganj Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Sindhip Kumar Singha, assistant commissioner Ahsan Ullah of Brahmanbaria Customs Excise and VAT Department, Director General Sunil Kapur of Indian transport contractor organization Surfex Corporation, among other, were present.
