DHAKA: The government is taking into account to let over 500,000 on-duty poll officials vote.

However, they will participate in voting online, reports the Business Standard.

"More than 500,000 officials and law-enforcers are on duty during elections and don't get the chance to cast their own votes," said Election Commission Secretariat Deputy Secretary Abdul Wadud describing the matter, report added.

But, the idea is yet to be placed in a meeting and the next step would have to wait until the commission's IT wing is able to provide the needed technical support.
