DHAKA: The government has decided to accord the status of a State Minister in favour of Syed Muazzem Ali, High Commissioner designate to India.

The disclosure came from a press release issued by the External Publicity Wing of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Wednesday.

The Cabinet Division issued a notification on October 20, 2014 in this connection, the news release added.

On September 28, the government appointed Syed Muazzem Ali as new High Commissioner to India for the next three years.
