BAHRAIN: A total of 40,000 illegal Bangladeshi expatriates in Bahrain will get amnesty soon.
Bangladeshi Ambassador to the country Major General KM Mominur Rahman confirmed the matter to banglanews.
Mominur Rahman said, “I have recently met with King of Bahrain Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and urged him about the amnesty.”
He also has responded the matter positively, Mominur added.
The Bangladeshi diplomat also met Crown Prince of the country Prince Salman bin Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa on Tuesday in this regard.
This matter has become now a hot talk among the Bangladeshi expatriates.
One of the Bangladeshi workers, Salim Uddin, has been living in the country for last 10 years. He lost his parents after coming here but could not go back home due to lack of legal documents. He is still waiting to go home legally and meet his wife, kids and relatives.
The illegal Bangladeshi workers are leading a miserable life as many of them are jobless due to their visa complexity.
Moreover, the illegal expatriates don’t have any chance to change their jobs in better companies.
If the Bangladeshi people get amnesty, they will be able to lead a better life with better job and it has now become a dream of hundreds of Bangladeshis here.
According to the information of Labor Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA), there are 36,572 illegal Bangladeshis in Bahrain.
