Ghulam Azam’s body kept at home

DHAKA: The body of war criminal Ghulam Azam will be kept in a specialized ambulance at his Moghbazar residence till his sons come from United Kingdom.

His lawyer Advocate Tajul Islam confirmed the matter to journalists on Friday.

Tajul Islam said that five sons of Ghulam Azam will come from UK in the afternoon and details about Namaz-e-Janaza will be informed then.

Earlier, the 92-year-old former Jamaat-e-Islami chief, who was jailed for 90-year for war crimes, breathed his last at 10:10pm on Thursday in city’s BSMMU in police custody.

Later on Friday morning, Dhaka central jail authorities handed over the war crimes convict’s body to his son Brigadier General (retd) Abdullahil Aman Azmi.

After receiving the body, Abdullahil Aman Azmi said that Ghulam Azam will be buried at Moghbazar family graveyard.
