DHAKA: Bangladesh and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Monday have signed three agreements aiming to strengthen mutual cooperation in different sectors between the two countries.
The deals were signed after a meeting between visiting Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and also the ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum in Dubai on Monday afternoon (local time).
The agreements include ‘The Agreement on Security Cooperation between the Government of the United Arab Emirates and the Government of People’s Republic of Bangladesh’, ‘The Agreement on Transfer of Sentenced Prisoners’ and the agreement on handing over land for construction of the UAE Embassy in Dhaka.
According to the sources, Bangladesh state minister for home affairs Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal and UAE interior minister Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan signed the first two agreements while Bangladesh foreign affairs minister AH Mahmood Ali and UAE foreign minister Sheikh Abdulla Bin Zayed Al Nahyan signed the third one.
