SIRAJGANJ: Detective Branch of Police (DB) detained three kidnappers after a gunfight with them in Mastulpara village under Bagatipara upazila of Natore district early Tuesday.  

The detainees are Foysal, 38, son of Abdul Khalek, Enamul, 30, son of late Ismail Hossain and Hafizul, 20, son of Abul Kalam. 

A businessman named Golam Mostafa, 48, was kidnapped from Shahjadpur upazila of Sirajganj district and the kidnappers demanded Tk 80 lakh ransom from his family.

On Monday, acting on tip off, DB police detained Foysal from Tarash of Siraganj when he went there to collect ransom from Mostofa’s son Sharif. 

Later at 1:00am Tuesday, as per information from Foysal, DB police raided kidnapper Enamul’s house in Bagatipara of Natore. 

Sensing presence of police, kidnappers opened fire aiming police and in reply police also opened fire, leaving a kidnapper bullet injured.  

Police rescued the businessman and held three more kidnappers from the spot. 

Confirming the matter DB Officer-in-Charge of Sirajganj, Nasir Uddin told banglanews that bullet injured Foysal was sent to Sirajganj General Hospital.
