DHAKA: Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) personnel were deployed across the country on Tuesday to avert untoward situation ahead of verdict of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Matiur Rahman Nizami.
The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-1 is scheduled to pass the verdict in a case filed against the accused on charges of crimes against humanity.
BGB sources confirmed the matter to banglanews.
Law enforcers have already taken special security measures at the key points in the city to avert any untoward incident before and after the verdict.
Earlier on Tuesday morning, ICT-1 fixed Wednesday for pronouncing its verdict in war crimes case against Nizami.
On May 28 in 2012, the tribunal indicted the Jamaat chief for his alleged involvement in crimes against humanity during the Liberation War in 1971.
